BMZA Extension Request

Please use the form below to submit your extension request. An extension request must be submitted within two years of the resolution date. An extension request submitted after this two-year mark may be denied.

The Board will consider this request at its next regularly scheduled general meeting. You do not need to attend the meeting; the Board does not take any testimony or hear any argument during its general meeting.

The Board can approve up to a 12-month extension. Usually, the Board will grant an extension for either six months or twelve months.
Please provide information to show "good cause" for your extension. You can either submit this information in as an attached PDF below or in this text box. Please note that "COVID" or "construction delays" are generally not considered to be detailed enough for the Board to grant an extension. Please provide as much detail as possible so that the Board can properly consider your request. ("Delays" is not a detailed enough response; describe the delays, why they occurred, and when you plan to begin the project.) Otherwise, your request may be denied.
Substantial construction means: (1) for new construction, that construction materials have been placed in permanent positions or fastened in a permanent manner; or (2) in preparation for rebuilding, that excavation, demolition, or removal of an existing structure has been substantially begun and is carried on diligently. If the answer is yes, please provide as much detail as possible - include permit numbers for any work begun, and please describe the construction that has taken place.
