How to file an appeal with the BMZA

Application for Review: 

Applications are submitted through the new Accela e-Permits System, which you can find at this link.

Completeness:

BMZA staff uses the following checklist to ensure that all applications are complete before they are scheduled for a hearing: BMZA Appeal Completeness Checklist. Please attach all documents requested for the most efficient application processing. 

Fee Payment:

When your application is complete, BMZA staff will send an invoice through Accela for the appropriate filing fee. After the fee is paid, BMZA staff will schedule your hearing. 

Zoning Appeal approval standards:

The Board applies the following approval standards, found in Baltimore City Code Art. 32 and in Maryland caselaw, as they consider each appeal: Variance and Conditional Use Approval Standards.
